If tests are not the answer, I repeat my question: what IS the answer?
Until someone can come up with a better way, SATs are the best way of
testing student knowledge.

Of course the kids count less than the school - or more precisely, the
one's who really count are those who get Level 5 in Y9 and benefit
from the extra attention many got who were Level 4a/b pre SATs. As for
the G&T's with 6+ and 'strugglers' on 3 ...
Resources are being sucked away from both ends towards the middle to
satisfy a political thirst for bogus figures and targets which this
current government is obsessed with.
