Susan started out commenting on Pat Thomson's article

I thought this was really interesting. My son is taking his 11 year sats

this week and the poor kids been tying himself up in knots for weeks about

it. I've told him not to worry and just do his best, but the teachers have

put him under so much pressure that he's been lying awake worrying. The

teacher told him that the night before the start of exams everything would

go blank and it would be as if a man came along and put a hoover in his ear

and sucked out all his revising. He was bothered to death that come the

morning of the first exam (yesterday) he wouldn't be able to remember

anything. Anyway he came home last night saying that his two science exams

were pimps, which apparently means dead easy.
